Overview

A fast-scaling recruitment company wanted to strengthen its culture of open feedback as growth introduced new communication challenges. By designing and facilitating a tailored Radical Candor workshop, I aligned the team on shared feedback principles and created a safer framework for honest, productive conversations.

Challenge

As PowerUs expanded, leadership recognized a gap between the team’s commitment to transparency and their ability to consistently deliver feedback in a way that balanced clarity with care. While Radical Candor had been introduced conceptually, interpretations varied, leading to hesitation, mixed expectations, and uneven communication practices. Leadership wanted the annual onsite to serve as a reset point - to create a shared understanding of what strong feedback looked like and help the team feel confident applying it in everyday interactions.

Solution

To ground the workshop in real team dynamics, I collaborated with People leadership to understand existing feedback habits, cultural norms, and areas of friction. This informed the design of a customized Radical Candor session focused on translating theory into actionable behavior.

The workshop clarified key concepts, addressing common misconceptions and outlining practical frameworks for delivering direct yet empathetic feedback. To bring the principles to life, I integrated short films featuring Radical Candor coaches, helping participants visualize how conversations could unfold in real workplace situations.

Interactive small-group exercises encouraged team members to reflect on personal experiences with feedback and discuss what support they needed to apply the model more consistently. The structure prioritized psychological safety, enabling candid dialogue while preparing participants for a large-group share-back that reinforced collective learning.

Following the onsite, I delivered a post-workshop analysis summarizing engagement patterns, team insights, and targeted recommendations to sustain the practice beyond the event.

Result

The workshop created a shared language around feedback and increased team confidence in applying Radical Candor principles. Engagement during exercises demonstrated a strong appetite for open dialogue, and leadership gained clearer visibility into communication dynamics. The session established a practical foundation for more consistent feedback practices, supporting healthier collaboration as the organization continued to scale.
